As you can tell, it's been a very busy and tough week so far. One more day until my rest day on Friday, thank goodness. I'm stuffing myself with half a dozen eggs and about 1/3 pound of ground bison right now to recover. I need my fats and protein.
Work this week has been such a chore. I've become such a Debbie Downer there and I can't even help it. The only respite I get becomes the gym. It's my sanctuary. It's where I have "the ability to let what does not matter, truly slide." The gym becomes so simple: see the weight, pick it up, put it down. There are no gym politics between you and the barbell. It does what you make it do. The barbell will eventually win, just one more pound can break you, but the ability to have total control over something is certainly therapeutic. It certainly beats and is cheaper than seeing a shrink to talk about how much I dislike building helicopters.
